Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandThis 70/30 pinot noir/chardonnay was disgorged in September 2014 after spending three years on the lees. Five to fifteen percent reserve wine ups the ample richness here. A savoury, soy saltiness permeates a full bodied, nutty and doughy base. Ginger spicing warms the pear and red apple fruit to a very pithy, moderate finish. Rich and evolved style, missing subtlety.Tasted: 12 July 2016Tasted by: Prices:

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandThe Cuvée Marlborough is a non-vintage brut blend of 70 percent pinot noir and 30 percent chardonnay made in the traditional champagne style. It's quite dry, almost more Spanish than Aussie if you like but refined. The textures are creamy and the flavours savoury. A serious style bubble with a clean dry finish.Tasted: 18 January 2002Tasted by: Prices:
