Gandia Chardonnay 1998
Hoya Valley, Utiel-Requena, Valencia and Murcia, SpainFrom Spain check out the '98 Gandia chardonnay, made in the New World way at one of Europe most modern wineries. The winery was founded in 1820 in the somewhat obscure wine region of Utiel-Requena about 100km from the city of Valencia. Expect a lightish style chardonnay grown at Gandia's vineyards where the average elevation is 800 metres above sea level. Typically Euro style here with plenty of lemon and citrus fruit and quite a dry finish. Chicken is the menu match but keep the spicing to a minimum.Tasted: 01 March 2001Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $9.75 | 750ml |
