Castello Banfi Centine 1998

Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalySmoky, oak-toast nose. Centine is a blend of Sangiovese (60 percent), Cabernet (20 percent) and Merlot (20 percent). A quick two months in Slavonian oak casks has softened the edges here. Spicy sausage/pepper aromas with some high-toned fruit. Tasty and complex given the so-so vintage in the region.Tasted: 01 March 2001Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
