Max Ferdinand Richter Richter Estate Riesling 1999

Mosel, GermanyRichter Estate Riesling is Old World thinking at its best. In this case, the property "declassifies" the wine that comes off Brauneberger Juffer vines that are less than fifteen years old! Can you imagine anybody in the Napa Valley waiting fifteen years before they make a reserve wine? In '99 Richter chaptalized the Estate Riesling to achieve a smoother, richer textured, more consistent wine. (Once chaptalized a German wine can only attain QBA status) We love the yin and yang here and the peachy citrus fruit. The finish is a touch sweet but it is a perfect candidate for spicy Asian dishes or simply serve well chilled on an early evening patio.Tasted: 01 September 2000Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
