Hess Collection Chardonnay 1999
Napa Valley, California, United StatesQuite flavourful and complex chardonnay but somehow rather disjointed. Deep colour is a bit of a surprise. The nose is loaded with sweet butterscotch, tobacco and toasty notes atop apple-melon fruit. Fairly full, sweetish and hot on the palate with a dusty, earthy quality that's unexpected.
