Batasiolo Barolo Vigneto Cerequio 1997

Piedmont, ItalyOpen spicy, tea leaf, pepper, leather, smoky tar aromas with a tinge of barnyard and violets. Very round, soft and forward with ripe, elegant tannins. Smoky, tarry, spicy, cherry jam and tea leaf flavours with a long licorice and pepper finish. Balanced, elegant and appealing with lower acidity but has potential for 5-10 years. A big improvement for Batasiolo and from an excellent vintage but pricey.Tasted: 01 March 2000Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:
