Mateus Signature Douro Red 1995

Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalAlthough related in ownership to Mateus Rose (which actually tastes pretty good these days), this new red comes out of the Douro Valley or the heart of port wine country. The difference is this wine is dry. It's slightly, bigger, richer fruit aromas make for a great mouthful. Look for a firm mid-palate and a long, soft silky finish. Serve with Veal T-bone steak rubbed with rosemary and cracked pepper corns.Tasted: 01 March 1998Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
