Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRipe and dense, reflecting the southern Okanagan's natural sun-drenched generosity. This full bodied cabernet sauvignon spent 18 months in French oak and the wood is evident here, even outpacing the concentration of the fruit at this stage. Roasted coffee, branch, dark blackberry, medicinal anise are supported by ripe, supple tannins, finishing with bittersweet cocoa. Decant now with a T-Bone steak, or give it a couple of years in the cellar to settle and merge.Tasted: 27 January 2017Tasted by: Prices:
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWe haven’t seen this wine in a while but it is impressive. If you are keen to produce a BC cabernet sauvignon you might want to try winemaker Randy Picton’s version and see what ripe cabernet sauvignon fruit is all about. If you are looking for a local cabernet sauvignon that is ripe and balanced this is it. It’s a big red but everything is in perfect balance. Juicy black fruit, bright acidity and sweet, soft, long chain tannins. It is a savoury affair with plenty of dried desert herbs, dark fruit, bits of cocoa and an enticing long finish of fruit and just enough oak. Give this a decade or drink it now with a big piece of roasted meat.Tasted: 09 December 2016Tasted by: Prices:
