Coastal Region, South AfricaFrom the Coastal Region's Groenekloof (Darling), Cape Town and Stellenbosch, and a mix of decomposed granite and weathered shale. After destemming and a stainless ferment, this went into 80% French and 20% American oak (mostly 2nd fill), where it rested for 14 months. The spicy toasted wood is a prevalent backdrop to the cushy black fruit on the tart palate.
