Fort Berens Reserve Riesling 2021

Lillooet, British Columbia, CanadaThe ’21 is a mix of fruit from their Lillooet estate Dry Creek Vineyard and Red Rock Vineyard. Interestingly 50 percent was crushed and given 12 hours of skin contact before it was pressed off; the other half was whole cluster pressed. The collective was native fermented and aged in French barrels (12% new) for nine months. Despite the wood, this wine is much fresher than the 2020, bleeding green apple and lime into 5.2 g/L of residual sugar that smooths out the edges. So fresh and clean, this is a solid effort, and you can drink it now. A favourite curry dish works here, or a piece of firm cheese.Tasted: 01 February 2023Tasted by: Prices:
