Emandare Vineyard Blanc de Noir 2021

Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaThis is the inaugural release of the Blanc de Noir, with pinot noir from the Mildenstein Vineyard (ex Godfrey Brownell) in Glenora, Cowichan Valley. After foot trodding and 2 hours soaking, this headed to press, followed by a native ferment in a 50/50 split between neutral barrel and tank. After 4 months on lees and full MLF, this was bottled unfined and unfiltered, at an impressive 11.5%. A shining salmon hue, this leads with ample mouthwatering salinity, followed with mandarin, strawberry yogurt, and savoury crushed stones. Though light in alcohol, this has charm throughout its slender shape, through a bitter citrus finish. Save for the misnomer name (White from Red, and it really should be Noirs, not Noir), this is firmly a rosé, and should be labeled as such.Tasted: 02 May 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
