Château de France Rouge 2020

Pessac-Léognan, Graves, Bordeaux, FranceChâteau de France was purchased in 1971 by Bernard Thomassin, with their 40 hectares in Pessac-Léognan currently managed Arnaud Thomassin, and is consulted by Michel Rolland since 1996. Roughly equal parts cabernet sauvignon and merlot, from deep gravels over clay / limestone. After a stainless ferment, this rested in oak barrels 30% new) for one year. Black cherry, dark raspberry is layered with tobacco, graphite, and dark cocoa, drawn long across the structural palate. Tannins are appropriately firm, while the wood use is judicial, guiding this to a warming finish. Stately yet accessible, partner this with roast beef.Tasted: 14 April 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
