Château Coquillas Rouge 2020

Pessac-Léognan, Graves, Bordeaux, FranceChâteau Coquillas is a second label of Château de France, based in Bordeaux' Pessac-Léognan. Coquillas refers to numerous shells in several plots of the property. This red of equal parts merlot and cabernet sauvignon was grown on gravel over clay/limestone and rested one year in 2-3-year-old barrels before a light filtration and bottling. Perfumed raspberries, cherries, and plums are woven with an earthy dusty gravelled note. Tannins are long, chalky, and taut, drawing this medium red to a lingering crushed rock finish. Well made and charmingly proper, drinking well now.Tasted: 14 April 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
