Catena Vista Flores Malbec 2019

Vista Flores, Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaDon Domingo Catena began sourcing Malbec from the historic vineyards of Vista Flores In the 1950s, and it has only become a more and more prominent home to quality fruit over the last 70 years. This is at once sturdy, with a dark colour and dense sweet tannins, but rich with black and blue fruits, mocha, pepper, black tea, and blueberry. The wine gets a five day non-alcoholic cold soak before a 16-day fermentation and another ten days of maceration post-ferment. The finished juice spends 12 months in French oak, of which 35% is new. Vista Flores Vineyard sits at 1100m in loamy soil, with rounded rocks on the bottom. The alluvial composition is 80% sand, 10% clay and 10% silt.Tasted: 02 April 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
