Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaThis 2018 Meritage blends 43% cabernet franc, 29% cabernet sauvignon, and 28% merlot, all aged 16 months in French oak. Quite savoury and polished, with red cherry, leather, and cured meats seasoned with a gravelled graphite note. Tannins are now worn with time but are still relatively grippy, housing the shading fruit.
