Luigi Bosca Paraíso 2019

Mendoza, ArgentinaParaíso is the top label at Luigi Bosca, made only in exceptional years. It pays tribute to Finca El Paraíso, the bedrock vineyard of the property that is a part of the historical and emotional legacy of the family. Paraíso is an intense wine on the nose rich in spices and red fruits with minerals scattered throughout. The grapes come from select plots from Gualtallary, Tupungato (45.2%); Altamira, San Carlos (34%); and Los Árboles, Tunuyán (20,8%); all in the Uco Valley and seated between 1,000 and 1,200 meters. In 2019 the blend was 71% Malbec and 29% Cabernet Sauvignon. Post-fermentation, each variety is aged between 12 and 14 months in used oak barrels, and only the best make it to the final blend. Not for the timid at 15 percent, but the balance is there. It needs some in the cellar, but make no mistake, this is a stellar malbec.Tasted: 22 March 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
