Henry of Pelham Speck Family Reserve Baco Noir 2020

Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaThe Speck Family Reserve Baco Noir comes off the family's oldest plantings on their estate, started in 1984 in silty clays. This aged in a combination of new and 1-2 years old American barriques, then partially finished in 5000L oak foudres for a combined 12 months. Opaque in the glass, with roasted coffee, smoked stones, bittersweet chocolate, and sour cherry. Acidity is very tart, and tannins are very soft and smoothed. I am not understanding the Baco appeal, but for those that do, here you go, for the BBQ.Tasted: 02 March 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
