Domaine Michel Briday Rully Les 4 Vignes 2018

Rully, Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy, FranceDomaine Michel Briday was founded in 1976 by Michel and Lucette Briday with 15 acres. Today the domaine is managed by Michel’s son and daughter-in-law, Stéphane and Sandrine, and consists of 38 acres spread across the municipalities of Rully, Bouzeron, and Mercurey. As the name of this cuvée suggests, it comes off 4 plots of varying altitudes and soils, and vines averaging 50 years. It was native fermented over 3 weeks, and aged in oak barrels (25% new). Crushed black raspberries, damson plums, sweet pipe tobacco is woven through the chewy palate, with sticky tannins holding the medium body in place. There's a sprinkling of brown spices throughout which hold on the cola finish, encouraging drinking now, ideally with grilled root veg and pork dishes.Tasted: 15 March 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
