Ca' di Ponti Nero d'Avola 2019

Sicily, ItalyAraldica is a 3rd gen family operated co-op, based in Piemonte. They've expanded their reach beyond northern Italy, working with farmers and growers throughout the country. This Nero d'Avola comes from grapes in southern Sicily's Riesi, the heartland of the grape. This was fermented and aged briefly in stainless. Ripe and fleshy and sun-baked, with prunes, black cherry compote, and dark chocolate on a tart / sweet and sour palate. Tannins are powdery soft, leading this to a bitter cassis end. Best matched with a rustic hearty stew.Tasted: 10 March 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
