Hillside Cabernet Sauvignon Howe Vineyard 2019

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLegend states that Hillside’s founder Vera Klokocka planted the first cabernet sauvignon vines in the Okanagan Valley on the Naramata Bench. That first row lives just south of the Howe Vineyard, planted in 2007. 2019 is a beautiful bottle of cabernet. If you are a California fan, this wine is not for you, but if you prefer a more restrained style with brighter acidity and a preponderance of red and black fruits, this is it. The fragrance is as elegant as the tannins and spice that fill in the body and run the length of this wine. This should age effortlessly, but you could easily drink it now with a Tomahawk steak, grilled portabello mushrooms, or a favourite aged cheese. A delicious and rare mid-valley cabernet, and very Bordelais in style. Impressive.Tasted: 18 February 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
