Blomidon Grande Réserve Extra Brut 2008
Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia, CanadaThis Grande Réserve is entirely chardonnay, from their Annapolis estate. It spent 10+ years sur lattes prior disgorge in February 2022, with 4 g/L. It's certainly a long term project, reflective in the premium pricing. Pouring a deep lemon hue, this opens with ample bread dough and yeast, with baked apple and pear, lined with oxidative notes. The mousse dissipates very quickly, leaving a tight cider apple note on the buzzing finish.
