Township 7 Provenance Series Merlot 2020

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada2020 is a mix of two vineyards: the rich, rocky soils of North Oliver Bench’s Blue Terrace Vineyard, and Front Yard Vineyard in Naramata, said to bring complexity and dimension to the blend. 14 to 21 days of maceration precede 18 months of ageing in American and French oak barrels. Smoke was an issue mid-season, but didn’t seem to have affected the wine substantially. The attack is rich and intense, with black cherry, black plums, and green olives. The tannins are dense but sweet and soft, leaving this one to age gracefully through 2027. A solid merlot for the price.Tasted: 29 January 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
