Mathieu & Camille Lapierre Morgon 2019

Morgon, Beaujolais Villages, Beaujolais, Burgundy, FranceSiblings Mathieu and Camille Lapierre took over the reins of their father Marcel's groundbreaking naturist wines in Beaujolais, carrying on the house's tradition of organic / biodynamic / estate. From 70 year old vines on sandy decomposed granites, this was native ferment, semi-carbo (no SO2) for up to 3 weeks before aging 9 months in older 216 later barrels. This vintage feels particularly light and effortless, with perfumed iris, wild raspberry and sapid cherry buoyant across a medium core, housed with fine, long tannins, and lit with a buzzy pixellated mineral underlay which stretches long to the saline finish.Tasted: 08 January 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
