Haywire Switchback Pinot Gris 2021

Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaI’ve been tasting this wine from its beginning in 2009 when the vineyard was a bit of a mess and far from where it is today. Switchback Organic Vineyard is a model site that portrays what the Okanagan can be with total dedication to the land. This pinot gris was whole cluster pressed and fermented on its yeast before ageing in concrete on lees for 11 months with constant stirring. The nose is a medley of scents mixing pear and yellow apples with a splash of honey. On the palate, it is more of the same combined into a creamy vibrancy with a real mineral/sagebrush finish. A wine that is not like the others (pinot gris). You can drink this now or hold it for even more development; the choice is yours. Well done, Matt and Kat.Tasted: 29 January 2023Tasted by: Prices:
