Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FranceDomaine Montmartel has been family owned and operated since 1919, with their hillside vineyards farmed organically. This blend of grenache, syrah, and carignan average 20 years vine age, and come off the calcareous clays of the southern Rhône. Destemmed fruit was native fermented and rested in stainless. Tight and tart black cherry, plum, raspberry lead a soft palate, with fine herbs and spices, and sticky, plumped tannins to frame. The finish lingers with powdery dark cocoa.
