Da Silva Legado Nobreza 2019

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLegado Nobreza is the flagship red of winemaker Richard Da Silva. Richard is a giant man, and this is a big wine. Da Silva calls 2019 an exceptional vintage noting the purity of the fruit that came to the winery. Four vineyards made the blend: Blenheim Hill Vineyard, Penticton Naramata Bench; Lazy Dog Vineyard, Penticton West Bench; Avila Family Vineyard, Oliver West Bench; and Outwash Vineyard, Oliver Central Moraine. The blend is a 60/25/14 mix of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and cabernet franc. Da Silva barrel aged the mixture for 26 months in French and American oak barrels. The palate is broad, the tannins soft, allowing the black fruit and cassis to wash across the palate, dusted in a touch of desert scrub and spice. It is a bit rustic but overall solid. I would ditch the American oak and amp up the complexity to reach the final level.Tasted: 30 January 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
