Weingut Hajszan-Neumann Traminer NATURAL 2019

Wien (Vienna), AustriaNatural is Fritz Wieninger's experimental range of wines, still biodynamic, as is his family's Weingut Wieninger. The grapes for the Natural Traminer come from the single vineyard Obere Schos, located on the Vienna Nussberg, and its limestone, chalk, and clay soils. The Red and Yellow Traminer blend was native fermented on skins in concrete eggs, staying there for five months, after which it was carefully racked to older 500L barrels where it remained for 6 weeks. This went to bottle without fining, filtration or sulphur. Stencilled with pear skin and apricot pith, this textural wine streams elderflower, tangerine, ash, and lime pith along a sleek palate, finishing with a saline wash, a kiss of soap bubbles, and a concrete handshake. Very interesting.Tasted: 09 December 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
