Tessellae Grenache Syrah Mourvèdre 2019

Côtes du Roussillon, Roussillon, Sud de France, FranceTessellae Old Vines has been a joint venture between Eric Solomon and Jean-Marc Lafage for two decades. Jean-Marc was the first to break away from selling most of his grapes from his family’s vineyards that, now total of over 160 hectares of vines, most more than 50 years of age, to the local cooperative. As a result, several diverse sites and soils go into this easy-drinking quality GSM. The blend is 40/40/20 grenache/syrah/mourvèdre, all harvested by hand, fermented for a month after a short pre-fermentation maceration, and aged entirely in concrete tanks. Intense black fruit lead a wonderfully mellow red dusted in the magic savoury garrigue of wild rosemary and thyme. Fabulous value here.Tasted: 11 December 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
