Le Ragnaie Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Vecchi 2017

Siena, Tuscany, ItalyOne of three particular black label Brunello from organic Le Ragnaie in 2017, this VV Sangiovese came from 50-year-old vines and was native fermented in concrete before spending three years in 37 hl Slavonian oak vats. Fleshy black cherry and black raspberry are woven with ferrous minerality and scented with aromatic dark florals and roses. Tannins are ample but very well integrated into the fruit, structuring for the future, but not overwhelming now (especially when paired with lamb and wild mushrooms). An effortless acidity lifts this to a lingering, saline finish—a beauty.Tasted: 08 December 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
