Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino 2020

Mendoza, Argentina2020 was another early harvest at Catena Zapata. The grapes are a mix of origins from Lunlunta (Angélica), and (Nicasia) Altamira. It was whole cluster, indigenous yeast fermentation in stainless steel, then aged in larger oak vats and barriques between 12 and 18 months. It's a big, powerful, juicy wine with dense, rich tannins and an earthy, savoury undercurrent. What is so impressive is the elegance of this wine. The balance and the seamless mix of fruit and tannin suggest that this will age effortlessly for decades. Serious and complex, this is the real thing and a great story for Argentina. Given the family’s Italian roots I suggest Bistecca alla Fiorentina.Tasted: 07 December 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
