Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc Reserve 2020
Wairau Valley, Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandThe Reserve tier of Sauvignon Blanc at Villa Maria contains the most prized vineyards throughout the Wairau and is only realized in the top vintages. From primarily the Laugesson vineyard, with smaller parts off Hocquard, Maxwell, and Cowley, these vines are rooted in deep silts, loess, and clay. It was fermented in stainless and remained on lees for a couple of months. Zesty and pungent, with white asparagus, passionfruit, and hedgerow on a creamy palate, livened with lime zest, grapefruit, and jalapeño, and lingering with stony spice on the warming finish.
