Painted Rock Syrah Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is a study in pepper and dried herbs with just enough spice to heighten the flavours. The mid-palate is youthful with some reductive notes that require decanting or, at the very least, constant swirling, but it should pass with time. The finish is a mix of smoky oak and drying tannins leaving it a touch rustic in 2020. It needs some time in the bottle or serve it now alongside a rich piece of grilled lamb, or cellar through 2025.
