Mt. Boucherie Reserve Merlot 2020

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Reserve Merlot comes from three vineyards: Lazy River Vineyard in South Cawston, Similkameen Valley; South Rock Vineyard on the Golden Mile Bench; and Lost Horn Vineyard, Okanagan Valley. It is a somewhat more delicate version of the regular label, although it is not a light red wine. It spends 14 months in American and French oak, 25 percent of which is new, and it weighs in at 13.9 percent alcohol. The texture is well done, soft and slippery, and it is peppered with savoury, earthy, dark cherry and a fair hit of wood spice in the finish. This wine needs 3-5 years in a bottle to reach its best expression, but you can drink it now with steak or a Portabello hamburger.Tasted: 29 November 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
