Kelly Washington Chardonnay 2021

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandFrom the Rapaura subregion of Marlborough, this certified organic chardonnay comes from 25-year-old vines rooted in the valley's clay soils. This was whole bunch pressed and native fermented prior to resting in new and neutral French barrels and puncheons. Creamy and textural, with toasted wood framing ripe red apple, lemon curd, and nutmeg filling an expansive palate. There's a lovely lemon brace of acidity to lift through the spiced pencil shavings finish. A moderately richer yet chiselled style, well accomplished, and ready for buttery scallops/prawns and/or lemon risotto.Tasted: 11 November 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
