Champagne Forget-Brimont Extra Brut Premier Cru NV

Champagne, FranceMichel Forget is a sixth generation producer from the town of Craon de Ludes. He owns nine hectares of prime pinot noir vineyards, planted mainly on the Grand Crus of Mailly-Champagne and Verzenay in the Montagne de Reims. This Extra Brut is the estate’s driest cuvée with a dosage of 5 g/L. The standard non-vintage blend is pinot noir dominated (50%) and pinot meunier (30%) with a small percentage of chardonnay (20%). It rests on its lees in bottle for a minimum of 30 months before dégorgement. There is a hefty 40-50 percent reserve wine in the mix going back a decade, adding a consistency of style roundness and complexity. The nose is a citrus floral affair, while the palate is pear driven with a pure mineral finish. The classic match is caviar or oysters.Tasted: 01 November 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
