Aged in cement, the fruit is easily accessible, making it a drink now bottle. Red fruits, anise, and tobacco, are dusted in cracked peppercorns and garrigue, and finish with a twist of minerality. Good value and a natural mid-week red you can count on. Château de la Gardine is a tiny estate that sits immediately west of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. The site has been involved in wine since the mid-1700s. In contrast, La Gardine has been involved with the Brunel family since 1947 and is easily recognized by its famous moulded bottle, originally mouth-blown, and rediscovered during the cellar expansion.
