Arzuaga Reserva Ribera del Duero 2018

Ribera del Duero, Castilla-Leon, SpainBy all accounts, Bodegas Arzuaga Reserva is becoming a Ribera del Duero star thanks to its base of sandy soils over limestone, and an altitude of 950 meters above sea level. It’s the perfect setting to tame the hot days with cool nights throughout the growing season, slowing the maturation process and allowing the grapes to ripen while retaining maximum acidity. The result is an amazingly fresh, elegant style. The vines are now 80+ years old, and the blend is almost all tempranillo plus three percent cabernet sauvignon and one percent merlot, aged 26 months in French oak. We treasure power with finesse, and when you add vibrancy, it becomes a must-buy. Look for smoky brambleberry with a subtle dusting of chocolate and coffee. Long and persistent, this is a winner.Tasted: 10 November 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
