Steeve Charvet Chiroubles 2018

Chiroubles, Beaujolais Villages, Beaujolais, Burgundy, FranceThis Chiroubles is not your grandmother’s Beaujolais. Deep in colour, it comes with a granitic-fired structure that gives it a substantial base to launch a raft of intense spicy black fruit all wrapped up in a juicy finish with soft tannins. This is a wine for food, and at this time of the year, turkey quickly comes to mind. Chiroubles is a small, hilly appellation (the highest in Beaujolais) to the west of Fleurie. The general wine style is all about fragrant aromas, fruit, and silky textures. The old rules would say to serve this in three to five years, but these wines are grown and made much better today and will easily hold five to seven years or more.Tasted: 28 October 2022Tasted by: Prices:
