Stag's Hollow Blanc de Noirs 2021

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Blanc de Noirs has improved yearly, and less skin contact and more whole-bunch-press have added a bit more style to the ‘21. So has more battonage and less wood. The colour is barely there, pink followed by a peachy floral nose with a hint of brown spice. The balance of sugar and acid on the palate is perfect at 4.5 g/L of residual sugar, revealing baked apple favours streaked with peach and caramel, again well balanced by a fresh finish. Delicious stuff. It’s all Okanagan Falls pinot noir farmed on Stag’s Hollow Vineyard (gravels & coarse glacial till) and Shuttleworth Creek Vineyard (gravels, glacial till & silty loam). I like the winery’s adventurous pairings: Fish and chips, Jamon Iberico, olives, oysters, peppery arugula salads, shredded pork tacos, and truffle fries.Tasted: 08 October 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
