Roche Nuances 2019

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Roche family has deep winemaking roots led by Pénélope, who counts six generations of viticulture and winemaking at Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion in Bordeaux. Nuances is the perfect name for this blend of 54/24/22 merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and cabernet franc, aged 12 months in 10% new French oak. The fruit comes from two sites: the merlot is from the Kozier Organic Vineyard perched high on the Naramata Bench; while the cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon come from the south Okanagan just north of Tuc-el-nuit Lake on the outskirts of Oliver. The considerable nuances in this wine are the result of balancing the vintage, vineyards, and varieties. Expect a Bordelais-style, sporting savoury red and black fruit just beginning to pull together for a long journey in the bottle. Like last year, this wine is all elegance, nuance, and understatement.Tasted: 29 October 2022Tasted by: Prices:
