Masia de La Roqua El Truc Blanc 2020

Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainMasia de la Roqua is in Olivella, a small town in Massís del Garraf, a mountain range between Barcelona and Tarragona. The winery dates back to 1164 and is under winemaker Jot Camps' care. The philosophy is to make wine from grapes indigenous to the region, namely parellada, xarel-lo, macabeo, malvasia de Sitges, and garnatxa negre. El Truc is all macabeo, a grape many of you may know from its use in Cava. The grapes are grown under a warm Mediterranean climate in clay/limestone soils that, at twice in history, were under the ocean. It's a pure white high in minerals and subtle citrus that weaves in and out its ultra-dry fish. Simply prepared oysters, calamari, clams, or mussel would all work here. This is a white wine for the adventurous, made as natural as possible.Tasted: 14 October 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
