Inglenook Rubicon Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Rutherford, Napa Valley, California, United StatesRubicon first appeared in 1978, designed to be from the finest vineyard blocks. Under the guidance of current general manager Philippe Bascaules, ex-Chateau Margaux, the goal is to raise the level even higher. In 2018 the Rubicon harvest began at the end of September, and 75% of the fruit destined for the Rubicon was harvested by the first week of October. The early ripening of the Rubicon fruit in 2018 significantly contributed to the freshness and elegance of the final blend. California rich in colour and extract, this cabernet is quintessential Napa. Hedonistic to a fault, it is a mix of black fruit, five spice, black licorice, and vanilla that wafts out of the glass while the long silky back end carries on for minutes in the finish. This is built for the long run. The 2018 mix is 88 cabernet sauvignon, eight merlot, three cabernet franc, and one petit verdot aged 18 months in 100% French oak, of which 76 percent is new.Tasted: 04 October 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
