Il Borro La Melle 2021

Arezzo, Tuscany, ItalyLamelle is one of those wines that might turn your head if you haven’t been keeping up with the global shift to brighter, leesy, more lively chardonnay. Italian chardonnay is rare, but La Melle is rare because it is an excellent bottle of Italian chardonnay that never sees any oak. Picked by hand and kept cool throughout the fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Post-fermentation, the wine is held on lees for about 60 days before bottling. The nose is aromatic with fruity floral notes and that distinctive leesy oatmeal scent. On the palate, juicy green and red apple are mixed with citrus and dried herbs. Bright, complex, and very food friendly, it is a lovely addition to the world chardonnay community.Tasted: 15 October 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
