D'Angelo Sette Coppa Apassimento NV

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe NV Setta Coppa Appassimento blend mixies cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, and merlot, only this time, the grapes were placed in a ventilated drying shed where they typically lose 25 to 30 percent of their water via evaporation (Amarone-like), further concentrating flavours before it goes to press. The attack is again powerful, but the flavours are more profound, darker, and smoother via the appassimento method and sixteen percent alcohol. Licorice and black currants with spicy desert scrub permeate a long, dense, persistent finish. There is no rush to drink this wine. It will age for a couple of decades, or you can serve it alongside the likes of venison, lamb, or mature, hard Italian cheeses.Tasted: 18 October 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
