D'Angelo Dolce Vita Rosso NV

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe dessert wine category has its ups and downs with consumers, but some of the new experimental wines in BC contribute to a lift in interest in these sweeties. As the weather turns cold across the province, the Dolce Vita Rosso, tempranillo-based wine, might be what you need to warm up. The play is tempranillo ice wine juice mixed with brandy distilled from their grapes at Maple Leaf Spirits craft distillery, up the road on the Naramata bench. It’s a play on the Portuguese late bottled port style. There is less fragrance up front but the palate flavours are intense. Look for ripe black cherries and prunes dusted in milk chocolate with a hit of spirit spice in the finish. It is barrel aged for seven years. Unique and worth investigating if you are a dessert wine fan. Our bottle clocked in at 18.3 percent alcohol and 97 grams of residual sugar.Tasted: 18 October 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
