CedarCreek Platinum Dehart Vineyard Pinot Noir 2020

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe DeHart vineyard faces west in east Kelowna but is tucked away from the Okanagan Lake effect, which makes it a cooler site. This is always a plus with pinot noir. It is wild fermented and aged in French oak for only ten months, which pushes lushness and fruit purity over all else. 2020 proved to be a terrific year by the end of the harvest, so there are high expectations for the wines. Some reduction on the nose is currently subduing the fruit. The texture is fabulous, and the cherries and orange zest glide along a lengthy palate with no noticeable oak, a touch of lees, and struck match reduction in the finish. I will withhold a final judgment on this wine to see how it develops and if it cleans up on the palate. Only 13.1 percent of alcohol by volume is a beautiful thing. Drink or hold through 2025.Tasted: 21 October 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
