Blue Mountain Reserve Brut R.D. Méthode Traditionelle 2013

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada2013 saw a ten percent drop in chardonnay to 55 percent chardonnay while the pinot noir jumped up to 45 percent. Like the Blanc de Blancs, it spends 7.5 years on its lees and is released 12 months after disgorging. This excellent wine opens with a mix of red fruits and citrus with a strong mealy undercurrent and a nutty aftertaste. Not as elegant as the Blanc de Blanc, but it comes with a fullness on the palate and a wonderful reductive autolytic scent. You can drink this now and pair it with a wider variety of foods. I love that the winery extends so much care to its R.D. lineup and wish other BC producers would consider similar ageing options for their best sparklers.Tasted: 30 October 2022Tasted by: Prices:
