Black Hills Chardonnay 2020

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWinemaker Ross Wise is a fan of the 2020 growing season, calling it “An outstanding vintage that has produced bold white wines that are full of character.” His chardonnay is very pure, offering citrus and floral aromas with an undercurrent of freshly baked bread. The palate is tight with precise acidity and intense Meyer lemon, ripe and waxy pear that finishes with spicy, pastry notes and a subtle salinity. Rich and textural, this is a big chardonnay but with enough restraint to offer a complex side too. Hidden Terrace Vineyard sits at 430m, basking in large amounts of light exposure and cool nighttime desert temperatures. The deep sandy soils are home to Clone 76 Block A14 chardonnay. It’s hand harvested and sorted, whole cluster pressed, fermented with wild yeasts, and matured for 11 months in seasoned French oak barriques and puncheons.Tasted: 02 October 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
