Backyard Vineyards Reserve Syrah 2018
British Columbia, CanadaThe Reserve Syrah is a barrel selection from three Southern Okanagan parcels. It is less pure this year, hidden under a dusting of smoky skies, made even more evident by the 2020 sections in the tasting. Savoury forest floor, pepper, and licorice set the tone for a drier style that never really opens up in the glass. Simple but flavourful food is the best solution here.
