Champagne Bollinger La Grande Année Brut 2014

Champagne, France2014 La Grande Année has been widely lauded, and it is no surprise. It has upfront energy that lights up the glass as soon as the wine hits it, which is slightly different in style. Bollinger is all about richness and power, but you can add some linear electricity to the mix. The blend is spread across 19 villages in a 61/39 mix of pinot noir and chardonnay. The silky, creamy mousse is laced with subtle blackcurrant and tangerine notes with a rich undercurrent of hazelnuts, chalk, and saline notes. Long and complex, it has the Bolinger persistence and complexity that turns heads. It was disgorged in July 2021, after almost 80 months on the lees. This is the real thing.Tasted: 30 September 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
